'The Royal Treasure of Brunei'

Once in a lifetime you are presented with the opportunity to acquire a treasure from a Kingdom. And not just any Kingdom, the noteworthy Kingdom of Brunei.

This ornament is named 'The Royal Treasure of Brunei' and was commisioned by the Sultan of Brunei, to be made exclusively by the Royal Jewellers Asprey of London in New Bond St. No effort or costs were spared in the production of this rare, regal masterpiece.

'The Royal Treasure of Brunei' features an automaton - (in the style of a Fabergé egg) a colourful songbird that actually makes a chirping sound. After the singing, the songbird returns to hiding in the egg.

The red cloisonné colored gold enamel egg (18 carat solid gold), the largest existing in the world, is made with the finest craftmanship and the highest quality. Made with exquisite materials including moonstone, rubies and diamonds the egg is comfortably resting on a golden wired stand with a footplate of natural rock crystal, and the unique design includes delicate red flowers scattered to add to the charm of the piece. The whole piece measures a whopping 160x235mm with a total weight of 2532 grams! This rare and beautiful ornament is the epitome of luxury.

Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother awarded Asprey with a Royal Warrant as Jewellers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths. Asprey held the warrant until her death in 2002.

The Prince of Wales, HRH Prince Charles gave Asprey a Royal Warrant as Jewellers, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths. Asprey continues to hold this Royal Warrant today.
